The purpose of the Charter School will be to offer a unique curricular instructional approach with high academic standards for all students. The school will utilize the Core Knowledge Curriculum as well as other approaches to accelerate outcomes for children. In addition, the school will offer foreign languages, character development, entrepreneurial opportunities and training.

The Maurice Holman Academy of Excellence will open in August, 2008 following the District calendar.

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and the North East Business Association (NEBA) are collaborating to sponsor and support the school.
